Terms and conditions
Hire
A standard order will be on hire to you for 2 days. Any extra time required may incur a surcharge but this will be discussed at the time of order.
Cancellation
If you have to cancel your order and you do so within 30 days of the agreed collection/delivery date then you will incur no charge and your deposit will be returned in full. However if cancellation takes place within 30 days of the agreed delivery/collection date your 50% pre paid deposit is non-returnable. Please make your cancellation in writing via Royal Mail to the stipulated address given on your order confirmation.
Packaging
All of your items will be packaged carefully and must be returned to us having been repackaged with due care and placed back into their original boxes or crates. The crockery is obviously fragile and if you choose to avoid a washing up surcharge and wish to wash the items yourself it is imperative that they are hand washed and dried with care. These vintage items were obviously not designed for dishwashers.
Linen
Please make sure that any linen is dry and free of debris before being packed away.
Charges and Damages
When your order is placed with Nicholas & Steele you will be asked to secure it with a 50% payment of the value of your total order. The balance will then be payable 30 days prior to your delivery date. In addition there will be a £200 standard damage deposit which is payable at the same time as your balance but with a separate cheque. This cheque will not be cashed unless anything is damaged or broken. If this is the case each item will be deducted from the £200 damage deposit at £5 per item for china and £15 per teapot. Table linen is charged at a value of £20 per tablecloth if stained or damaged. Furniture will depend on the repair required. This deposit will be returned once all items have been checked and the order is deemed to be complete and in good order. Crockery returned chipped will be charged as broken.
Checking and Signing
It is very important that you check your items carefully upon delivery and sign the accompanying delivery note accordingly. Please bring to our attention any problem with your delivery at this time.
Upon signing you are fully responsible for the care of all items and are expected to return them to Nicholas & Steele in good order.
Cleaning
We are very happy to take care of the cleaning of all china items upon their return. Please scrape all surfaces clean of food before repackaging. This washing up service will need to be requested at the time of order. This service will be charged at 20% of the value of the total china hiring charge.
Liability
Nicholas & Steele will accept no responsibility for damage or injury caused to person or product as a result of this hire arrangement, unless negligence on the part of Nicholas and Steele can be shown. All goods are hired and are the responsibility of the hirer until they are returned to Nicholas & Steele.
Insurance
For your peace of mind we strongly recommend that you organise a suitable insurance, as all equipment is the responsibility of the hirer until return, this includes equipment left at other premises. Any losses, damage or breakages will be charged accordingly.
