A lovely silver mounted mother of pearl footed dish made by Britton Gould & Co circa 1907. The shaped mother of pearl bowl stands on a small silver base. The silver handle is detailed with tiny bearings and folds down in either direction. The mother of pearl is beautifully colored, peachy pink and has a lovely iridescent sheen that shines in the light. These dishes were quite common in the late victorian period and were usually used to serve caviar, salt or occasionally sugar. This lovely piece would be beautiful on your table for its original purpose or equally fabulous as a vanity or jewellery dish.

In overall good condition. There appears to be a minor repair to the struts on the underside to the basket but it is not detracting and the dish displays well.

The maker's marks are visible and indicate that this piece would have been made at Britton Gould & Co of Hatton Garden, London. Hallmarked 1907.
