1906 FIRST EDITION "Gollie's Desert-Island" Florence Upton. Published by Longmans Green.

It has clearly been well used and enjoyed over the years and it is a First Edition, 1906 which in itself makes this a worthy relatively affordable addition to a collection.

The main weaknesses are shown in the photos above and are as follows - 

The boards are creased and have become floppy rather than remaining rigid.

There are one or two pieces of the cover paper missing and fraying to the spine.

There are marks on the back of the front end paper and feint remnants of colouring-in of some letters on the title page.

The centre hinges of a few of the centre pages, and one or two tears, have been reinforced neatly and inconspicuously with professional tape.

The final page is quite a good facsimile but is wrinkled.

The final end paper is a facsimile and slightly darker.

The book is complete and most of the pages are very good. The binding is firm.

Not the best of specimens but still capable of giving much pleasure.
