A hand painted quote on a lignum vitae wood plumber’s turnpin with a Christmas quote

An antique plumber’s turnpin.

Made from the hardest wood known to mankind; Lignum vitae, these conical shaped tools were used to widen the end of copper piping so that they could slot into each other. Consequently, they have the most delightful patina, weigh a tonne and for our purposes, resemble divine little Christmas trees.

In vintage condition hand painted using traditional sign writer’s techniques and materials.

Each piece is chosen for its age and time worn patina, their shape and design and matched with an appropriate quote, thereby enhancing the wonderful story of the object.
