Antique Bo-Peep’s Unbreakable Play Book by Mrs Strang c.1920

A charming early children’s Bo-Peep’s Play Book from Mrs Strang’s Play Books, published by Humphrey Milford for Oxford University Press.

Part of the wonderfully named “Unbreakable Books” series, it is made from substantial board pages joined with cloth tabs and features a delightful collection of full-page colour illustrations of childhood and nursery scenes.

Dating to around the 1920s, it has plenty of age-related wear, rubbing and losses to the covers, but the interior illustrations retain lovely colour and charm.

A wonderful survivor and particularly appealing to collectors of antique children’s books and early nursery illustration.
