A charming antique brass pocket tape measure dating from the late Victorian to early Edwardian period, complete with its original 6ft measuring tape and fully functioning winding mechanism.
Originally carried by tailors, seamstresses, drapers and dressmakers, this compact retractable tape measure is a wonderful example of everyday craftsmanship from the turn of the twentieth century. The brass case has acquired a beautiful aged patina through years of use, while the original woven tape remains present, legible and fully operational.
