A Rare Example of Early Festive Craftsmanship

Add a touch of timeless enchantment to your seasonal décor with this exquisite antique Father Christmas ornament, crafted in Germany during the early 20th century. Presented in beautifully aged lithograph, Father Christmas carries a sack filled with traditional toys and a snow-laden tree, evoking the quiet magic of European Christmases from a bygone era.

Suspended below the figure is an extraordinary hand-formed spun-glass skirt, created from fine, shimmering glass fibres that radiate a soft, ethereal glow. This fragile material is now exceptionally rare, as few examples have survived the last century with their spun glass intact. The effect is delicate, luminous, and wholly unique — a hallmark of premium German ornament craftsmanship from the period.

This ornament is further distinguished by oral provenance linking it to Bletchley Park Museum, adding a captivating historical narrative. As with all oral provenance, this story is passed on exactly as received.

Refined, atmospheric, and steeped in festive nostalgia, this piece makes a stunning addition to curated interiors, antique holiday collections, or elegant seasonal displays.
