An authentic antique German stoneware bottle bearing the impressed Nassauer seal with crowned lion motif and “Seit 1848” script mark.
Crafted in traditional salt-glazed stoneware, this handsome bottle dates from the late Victorian to early twentieth century and originates from the Nassau region of Germany, an area renowned for its mineral water, beer and stoneware industries.
The bottle displays a beautiful warm buff glaze with natural kiln speckling and authentic signs of age acquired over more than a century. The impressed maker’s seal remains visible and provides excellent decorative and collector appeal.
A wonderful example of European utilitarian pottery, ideal for collectors of antique stoneware, breweriana, advertising bottles, country house interiors and primitive décor.
