Antique Heraldic & Decorative Pressed Tin Die Pattern Collection – Elephant, Monkey & Crown Motifs c.1900

A fascinating collection of five antique pressed tin die patterns dating from the late Victorian to early Edwardian period, circa 1880–1920.

The group comprises two heraldic elephant motifs, a monkey figure standing upon a decorative plinth, a crown or coronet motif, and a decorative boss pattern. These unusual pieces likely originated from a specialist workshop and may have been used as die-maker’s patterns, decorative metalwork patterns, bookbinding tools, or for the production of heraldic and ornamental designs.

Each piece displays excellent detail and a rich aged patina acquired through years of practical use. The elephant motifs are particularly striking and may relate to armorial, civic, military or decorative heraldry. The survival of the collection as a group suggests a common workshop origin, making it an especially appealing find for collectors.
