A charming set of four antique lignum vitae lawn bowls, each displaying beautiful age, rich colour and wonderful sporting history.
Expertly turned from dense hardwood, the bowls retain their original inset name discs bearing the initials R.W., together with decorative ring-turning and hand-finished details. Their deep chestnut colouring and heavily patinated surfaces reflect decades of use on the bowling green.
The set shows all the character collectors seek, including natural age-related wear, surface crazing and historic marks acquired through years of play. These qualities only enhance their decorative appeal today.
Perfect displayed in a bowl, stacked on shelves, incorporated into a sporting collection or used as decorative objects in a country house interior.
