A charming antique Victorian wall plaque featuring a coloured topographical landscape print displayed beneath its original convex glass within a decorative black and gilt frame.
The central image appears to be a Victorian chromolithographic or hand-coloured topographical print, depicting a picturesque church nestled amongst mature trees with a dramatic hilltop ruin rising in the background. Presented behind original domed "bubble" glass and surrounded by a black frame with gilt Greek key decoration, this piece captures the romantic decorative style popular during the late Victorian period.
Retaining its original hanging loop to the reverse, it is ready to display and would make a wonderful addition to a country cottage, period interior, gallery wall or collection of Victorian decorative arts.
