Found Object Antique Micro Mosaic Necklace by Jealous Moon Jewellery

A stunning, one of a kind, reworked antique micro mosaic necklace pendant with bail, strung with gorgeous vintage Czech glass beads, simulated seed pearls, Guatemalan blue Jade and white Jade beads on a wire chord. 

Finished with a hand made silver plated clasp.

The pendant was originally a brooch most likely procured on a grand tour in the late 1800’s and given originally as a gift to a mother, sister etc. They were made in Venice using tiny Murano glass tiles, each piece being hand set to create intricate micro mosaic designs in the style of their Roman forebears. 

In each design I seek to work with the vision of the original creator in designing a contemporary piece of jewellery with a nod to its past but a new take on how it can be worn and enjoyed today. 

I employ modern silversmithing and jewellery making skill to wonderful, old found objects thus giving new life to interesting things. 

I call this my “Found Object” collection.
